Referral Program

The Resolution Center of Jefferson and Lewis Counties is dedicated to connecting people to those services that best suit their needs. Our Divorce Referral Program continues this part of our mission by ensuring that our clients understand some of the choices available to them when they choose to bring their marriage to an end.  Whether that process is undertaken by the couple themselves, or with the help and support of a dedicated professional, Resolution Center staff will provide direction and information.

â–ºSelf-Service Options:

NY Courts DIY Site

The New York State Unified Court System provides a variety of information and tools for couples seeking an Uncontested Divorce. Working in partnership with LawHelp Interactive, the courts give you access to information, background, checklists, forms, and instructions that make it possible for you to prepare and file your divorce step by step. No attorney is required.  The site is available at Uncontested Divorce - DIY Forms | NY CourtHelp (nycourts.gov).

Pro Se Filing Kit

The courts have assembled a "kit" consisting of forms, documents, and detailed instructions that couples can use to file their own divorce. This packet is designed for couples representing themselves ("pro se"), and so no attorney is required.

The Pro Se Filing Kit is available from Jefferson County Family Court, your local Supreme Court, or through the Resolution Center upon request.
